The cloud just keeps on giving: Linode goodness

Published on April 25, 2014 by Frederik Denkens

The cloud just keeps on giving. It’s a market that is highly competitive, continuously resulting in declining prices and improving value for everybody.

And now it’s Linode’s turn again: last week they announced a complete revamp of the Linode plans and their hardware and network.

A quick overview:

  • Introduction of highly reliable server-grade SSD storage
  • Network connection to every host of 40 Gbps. VM’s can go up to 10 Gbps outbound (depending on instance-type)
  • New Ivy Bridge E5-2680.v2 full-power server-grade processors
  • Double the RAM for the same price
  • Changes in the plans: alignment of compute (vcores) and bandwidth to the cost of each plan

Head over to their announcement for more details.

All of our managed Linode customers can simply ask us for a free upgrade to these new specs. Included in our cloud management is the coordination and execution of this upgrade to make sure everything goes smooth.
