Team changes and our team gathering in Barcelona

Team changes

We are kicking May off with some changes to our team. First, Geert and Juan Carlos have left our team. We thank them for their time at Skyscrapers and wish them all the best in their future ventures! Maybe we will cross paths again.

On the bright side, today Luca joined our team. He will be mostly working from Italy and Spain. His background as Cloud Support Engineer at Amazon Web Services is a great addition to our team. He’s also just a very nice guy, so when you get him on the line be sure to say hi to him!

We have some more people joining us the coming weeks, but we’ll hold that news for when they’re on board.

Trip to Barcelona

We are a 100% distributed company. Besides many benefits, this also brings various challenges that are essential to any growing company: building a great culture, staying aligned with our purpose and most importantly: opportunities to enjoy food and drinks together on a regular basis.

That’s why we’ve decided that having some quality time together in a nice location is essential to support our growth as an organisation. In what will become a regular thing we’ll be kicking things off by heading to Barcelona for 4 days! We are leaving on Monday, 16th May and staying until Thursday, 19th May.

The impact on our core service delivery will be limited. Our operational coverage (monitoring, incident management, 24/7 escalation, etc) will be functioning at 100%, even during travel. Our (planned) engineering work will be put on a backburner. This means we will try and limit our work to high-priority work only. The time that is freed up that way will be spent on internal discussions, workshops and presentations.

In the end, this will benefit not only our organisation but also increase the value we can deliver to our customers.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us should you have any questions.
In the meantime, feel free to check out our About page to see who’s on our team!
