Last week, we moved our IPv6 service from alpha to beta. IPv4 addresses are running out fast, so we can’t stay behind on our IPv6 development. Converting the iLibris nameservers was the most important part. These allow us to run your website on both IPv4 and IPv6. After a testing period, it was time to do a test run. iRail, running on Linode infrastructure, was a perfect candidate and you can read about it here.

But not all cloud providers support IPv6 just yet. Linode and Brightbox support it natively and out of the box. But for Amazon and Rackspace you’ll need to use their loadbalancer trick. I guess it’s a matter of time before those providers come through.

If you’re interested to beta test, let us know!
